MADAMES AND MONSIEURS PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR CUBICLES

Along came Colour It In.

I still try to remind myself that Orlando Weeks, in an interview, mentioned that he isn’t the best talker around yet to helm the vocals can be such constant hard work and you are always reminded that when you see him do the talking during live sets you see something so rare from a person who is bound to stutter, if not struggle to speak something out of his mind, then you just do that emoji 👌.

Also why Felix White, we barely see Hugo White chime in doing the talking (well, most Youtube vids anyway), and Weeks’ doing this some sort of talking back and forth to the audience looks cool, at least for me. I would like to cite some Coldplay examples but I will try not to. Say, you get this ‘front man’ thing, and most of the time (or at least, what audience are used to) you get to see the vocalist do most of the vocals, some do the back up when singing but nothing more than that.

LATCHMERE’S GOT A WAVE MACHINE

Yes, Latchmere Leisure Centre.

Swim, swim, swim, swim, swimming
Just stay in your lanes

There is some kind of memory when it comes to the show Inbetweeners and how this has been the kind of show where you get the laddish nonsense you tend to cringe knowing the things you do when you were of their age and this constant feeding of good music from bands. While everyone is busy about their dying emo whatnots during those years, you see a wide array of teenagers grow into post-noughties lads going to uni or something.

So going back.

There was a point where Latchmere, a pretty nonsensical song about Latchmere Leisure Centre — where Weeks sound like that mate you have during summers suggesting you go to that place than going somewhere else tropical because, why not, them got wave machine, eh.

But kidding aside, this points out how young and fresh the band’s ideas were and what kind of music they are soon to play. I may repeatedly talk about this throughout but the band seem to know what kind of music they are to make and when to make the most out of everything they’ve learned when necessary. There was an interview where they explained that the song tends to lean on those super simple things that you get to remember. They often are unnecessary but have this precious place in your memory palace (forgot who exactly said that to me or might have been relayed during those random days I get to meet chaps listening to them).

OH TO BE YOUNG AND FOOLISH!
